Job description
As a Professional Services Consultant, you'll act as a trusted advisor to customers, understanding their systems, challenges, and data needs, before helping them design and deliver integration solutions that connect seamlessly with the company's core applications. You'll be involved in a broad range of projects - from new implementations to bespoke integrations - using APIs to ensure smooth data exchange and interoperability across diverse platforms., * Leading technical discussions with client stakeholders to understand system landscapes and integration requirements.
- Designing and advising on scalable API-based integration strategies, with a focus on RESTful APIs but awareness of others such as SOAP, GraphQL, and OData.
- Configuring and testing API interfaces, ensuring performance, data quality, and security compliance.
- Acting as the key technical bridge between customer IT teams and internal development/product teams.
- Translating business requirements into clear, practical technical solutions and documentation.
- Supporting the delivery of software implementations and ensuring successful onboarding of new clients.
- Helping shape API best practices and contributing to continuous improvement across the Professional Services function.
Requirements
- Experience as a Technical Business Analyst, Integration Consultant, or similar client-facing technical role.
- Strong working knowledge of APIs - including REST and a solid grasp of common data formats (JSON, XML, CSV).
- Ability to read, interpret, and map data flows between systems.
- Confident communicator with excellent client-facing and documentation skills.
- Analytical thinker who can identify challenges and design pragmatic technical solutions.
Desirable:
- Experience working within software vendors, SaaS environments, or system integration projects.
- Familiarity with API testing/documentation tools such as Postman, Swagger, or Azure API Management.
- Knowledge of cloud environments, data transformation, or middleware integration tools.
- Exposure to sectors such as utilities, local government, infrastructure, or enterprise service management.
