Lead Engineer - £100K (TS + React) - Climate Reporting SaaS Platform

This is a completely greenfield project and a rare opportunity to lead the development of a meaningful product that directly supports organisations in meeting their climate obligations. You will work with a high level of autonomy, reporting into the CTO and driving technical decisions day to day. The product is already in use and will be the foundation for further growth and expansion.

You'll collaborate closely with product, design and policy specialists to shape the future of the platform, ensuring it remains robust, user-friendly and compliant with key standards around accessibility and data security.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Own the engineering delivery across both front-end and back-end of the product
• Make key decisions around technical architecture, tooling and implementation strategy
• Lead the development of structured, form-based interfaces with complex validation and data handling
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to integrate with cloud infrastructure and data systems
• Ensure the platform meets accessibility and security best practices
• Translate climate reporting requirements into scalable, user-friendly digital workflows, * Lead the technical direction of a growing SaaS product with genuine social impact

We are working with a small, mission-driven SaaS startup that is building a digital platform to support climate change reporting at scale. They are looking for a Lead Engineer with strong TS, React/Node (ideally Next.js) experience to take full technical ownership of the platform as it evolves and grows. You will get to work with the latest AI tools and will be working heavily with Cursor. Experience or at least a serious interest working this way is a must have., * Around six or more years of engineering experience, including time in a lead or senior role

• Deep experience with React and TypeScript in production environments
• Strong knowledge of building structured forms and data-driven web applications
• A desire to be working with the latest AI tools (but not just for the hype)
• Familiarity with cloud environments, ideally AWS, and CI/CD practices
• Solid understanding of accessibility principles and good UX for form-heavy products
• Able to work independently, take initiative and guide product direction from a technical perspective
• Any exposure to sustainability, climate data, or compliance-driven platforms is a bonus, but not required
