Job description
- Design of both generic and manufacturer-specific dynamic models for HVDC systems, power generation plants (e.g., wind, solar, hydropower, combustion engines, steam turbines, gas turbines, combined cycle, and combined heat and power systems), and energy storage systems.
- Utilize DIgSILENT Simulation Language (DSL) and Modelica to develop models for grid simulations in the time domain (RMS and EMT). * Model Integration and Validation:
- Incorporate external DLL files into PowerFactory models.
- Conduct dynamic time-domain simulations (RMS and EMT) for project purposes and model validation in compliance with FGW TR4. * Technical Support:
- Provide expert guidance and consulting for national and international PowerFactory users, focusing on HVDC systems, generation plants, and energy storage systems.
- Support users with their dynamic simulation needs and troubleshooting. * Documentation and Examples:
- Prepare detailed model and software documentation.
- Develop application examples and contribute to the PowerFactory specification process. * Training and Education:
- Plan and deliver training courses worldwide on advanced topics related to grid calculations, focusing on the aforementioned areas of expertise. * Outreach and Engagement:
- Represent the company at international conferences and exhibitions.
- Support sales processes with product presentations and technical expertise.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Systems engineering?, Do you have a Master's degree?, * Educational Qualification: Master's or PhD in Power Systems Engineering, Engineering Cybernetics, or a related field. * Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in modeling dynamic simulations of electrical power supply networks, including HVDC systems, generation systems, and energy storage systems.
- Strong understanding of dynamic simulations in the time domain, with a focus on Electromagnetic Transient (EMT) analysis. * Software Expertise:
- Familiarity with PowerFactory simulation software.
- Knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink and PSCAD is highly desirable.
- Experience with Modelica is an advantage. * Industry Knowledge: Understanding of German grid code requirements (VDE-AR-N41x0) is a plus. * Work Approach:

- Language Proficiency: Fluent in English; other languages are an asset.
