Job description

Stott and May are currently working with a Data Centre client who are looking to expand their team with the addition of a Data Centre Mechanical Shift Technician.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing engineering team within a critical environment, supporting the operation, maintenance, and reliability of essential mechanical infrastructure. You will play a key role in ensuring all planned and reactive maintenance is delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with strict service level agreements., You will be responsible for:

  • Carrying out routine and reactive maintenance across critical mechanical plant and systems
  • Responding to BMS alarms and supporting emergency repairs
  • Operating within Permit to Work systems and ensuring compliance with SOPs, EOPs and SSOW
  • Supervising subcontractors and reviewing RAMS documentation
  • Supporting incident management in business-critical scenarios
  • Maintaining high health & safety standards at all times
  • Building strong working relationships with internal teams and client stakeholders

You'll be working with key plant systems including chilled water systems, pumps, ACUs, motors, fans, and adiabatic cooling systems.

Requirements

  • Level 3 NVQ in a relevant discipline
  • HVAC experience
  • Strong understanding of health & safety within maintenance environments
  • Experience managing real-time faults in critical settings
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a shift team
  • Organised, proactive, and comfortable in high-pressure environments
  • Flexible approach to shift work
