Job description
Stott and May are currently working with a Data Centre client who are looking to expand their team with the addition of a Data Centre Mechanical Shift Technician.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing engineering team within a critical environment, supporting the operation, maintenance, and reliability of essential mechanical infrastructure. You will play a key role in ensuring all planned and reactive maintenance is delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with strict service level agreements., You will be responsible for:
- Carrying out routine and reactive maintenance across critical mechanical plant and systems
- Responding to BMS alarms and supporting emergency repairs
- Operating within Permit to Work systems and ensuring compliance with SOPs, EOPs and SSOW
- Supervising subcontractors and reviewing RAMS documentation
- Supporting incident management in business-critical scenarios
- Maintaining high health & safety standards at all times
- Building strong working relationships with internal teams and client stakeholders
You'll be working with key plant systems including chilled water systems, pumps, ACUs, motors, fans, and adiabatic cooling systems.
Requirements
- Level 3 NVQ in a relevant discipline
- HVAC experience
- Strong understanding of health & safety within maintenance environments
- Experience managing real-time faults in critical settings
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a shift team
- Organised, proactive, and comfortable in high-pressure environments
- Flexible approach to shift work
