Job description

Due to the expansion of our IT Department we are looking for a new team member to take on the role of Network Technician. You will serve as the first point of contact for IT assistance to our store network and head office. This position is based onsite at our Head Office on the edge of the City Centre, but occasional travel and overnight stays may be required., * 1st line support, diagnosing hardware and software faults and solving technical and applications problems.

  • Liaise with end-users to ensure issues are resolved.
  • Helpdesk support on a variety of back office applications.
  • Install and configure computer hardware, operating systems and applications.
  • Set up new hardware and recycle old hardware.
  • Approve permission change requests and starter and leaver management.
  • Assist with the support of Active Directory.
  • Ensure licences are assigned and/or renewed as needed.
  • Assist with the roll-out of new applications.
  • Liaise with external contractors and suppliers as needed Hardware Support - e.g. PCs, Laptops, printers, photocopiers, office moves etc.
  • Management of Users/User Environment - Application management, network environment, PC and Desktop.
  • Support & administer Microsoft 365 services including email, file sharing, and collaboration tools.
  • Troubleshoot issues relating to Microsoft Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft OneDrive.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding of staff (device setup, access provisioning).
  • Monitor and respond to IT support tickets in a timely manner.
  • Maintain IT equipment including printers, workstations, and peripherals.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will be able to prioritise their own work load and adapt to any issues. We are looking for someone with a can-do attitude and the ability to build rapport with the rest of the business. You should be friendly and easy to talk to with effective communication skills. Key Skills:

  • Office 365 Administration & Support Windows 10 & 11 Administration & Support Active Directory, Azure and Exchange Administration New user setups and mailbox creation (User Accounts, Microsoft 365).
  • Good problem solving ability & excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Have a full driving licence as travel to other sites will be required.
  • Basic networking knowledge (TCP,DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi).
  • Experience with IT ticketing systems and documentation tools.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of PowerShell scripting.
  • Previous experience in an IT support or IT technician role.

Qualifications / Education & Experience:

  • Bachelors/Masters Degree in Computing or equivalent experience
  • Experience using Office 365 administration
  • 2 plus years experience in Technical Support Role
  • Strong understanding of exchange online, SharePoint and One Drive
  • Experience with Active Directory and Azure AD

  • Veeam backup
