Software Developer

BaseClear processes large amounts of data using a wide array of tools and applications. This data is to ensure proper processing of samples within our operational workflow, result files which are then sent to our clients, and keep track of business intelligence. Within the IT department, we develop and maintain several of these systems. These systems, such as our labware LIMS, are critical for the ongoing business of BaseClear and require a high level of security and integrity, as defined in the ISO27001 and GxP guidelines we uphold. Furthermore, although general IT challenges are handled by our external IT supplier, the IT team cooperates with this third party to ensure all IT ongoings are performed to a high standard.

In this role, you will be part of the IT team, developing and improving several of our internally-build systems. These include a data portal, where clients can download their genomic data, and our internal automation portal, interfacing tools together for a smooth operational workflow and our labware LIMS system. • You carry a Bachelor degree (or higher) in Software Engineering, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Life Sciences with strong computational focus, or a related field.
• You have at least 3 years of experience in software development orbioinformatics with substantial software engineering responsibilities.
• You have experience working in a Bioinformatics or laboratory
• You have solid knowledge of Python, Django and other relevant technologies
• You understand software development best practices and are motivated to deliver high-quality, maintainable, and secure solutions.
• Experience with ISO27001, GxP or other quality guidelines is a preference.
• You live within 35 km from our Leiden office.
