Job description

What you'll be doing

We want engineers able to pose deep questions, craft and explain reliable solutions, work in short iterative cycles with different techniques, and champion agility, quality, culture, and sustainability. Having the ability to listen, reflect and respect the view of others is key in this role and having ability to voice your perspective without being strongly tied to it.

Within Customer Data Services we manage Reference, product and interpersonal data across the organisation. Our aim is to provide access for the right reasons while maintaining confidentiality. We focus on delivering an outstanding engineering experience built on performance, resilience, and integrity.

The systems we support form the foundation of nearly all activities. We uphold these systems to the highest standard, aiming to take ownership for the operational support 24/7 through SRE principles.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of below, but please do not worry if you don't have all, we can work with you to build your skills
  • Direct Software Engineering background creating extensive Java applications with DevOps Experienced with diverse tools, techniques, and platforms. Emphasizes verifying functionality and accuracy
  • Experience in developing with Spring, Hibernate, REST APIs, Spring boot, JSON, Microservices, Kafka, and Postgres
  • Solid grasp of architecture and cloud-native principles along with algorithms and data structures
  • Experience handling container environments, specifically Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm (e.g., GCP, Azure, AWS), preferably GCP
  • Experienced in automating CI/CD using tools such as Jenkins, Spinnaker

And any experience of these would be great

  • Experience with MDM, reference data, IBM product master and Mainframe
  • Awareness of Agile values and principles.
