Job description
We are looking for a senior AWS Cloud Network Engineer/Network DevOps Engineer to join a complex enterprise cloud programme. This role needs someone with a rare mix of strong AWS networking knowledge and hands-on infrastructure automation/DevOps delivery.
This is not a traditional software DevOps role. The focus is on AWS networking and infrastructure changes delivered through code, using modern tooling and pipeline-based workflows.
What you'll be doing
- Designing and supporting AWS networking end-to-end
- Building and managing multi-account AWS network infrastructure
- Working across VPCs, subnets, route tables, NAT, NACLs, security groups, Route 53, load balancers, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect and VPN
- Delivering infrastructure and network changes through Terraform and pipeline-driven deployment
- Using GitHub/Git workflows and branching strategies to manage and promote infrastructure updates
- Supporting secure and scalable network connectivity across multiple environments and accounts
- Automating infrastructure deployment and change through code rather than manual administration
- Working closely with engineering and cloud teams to push network and infrastructure changes safely into live environments
Requirements
- Strong AWS networking expertise
- Hands-on experience with Terraform
- Strong understanding of GitHub/Git workflows
- Experience with pipeline concepts and workflow-based infrastructure delivery
- Experience deploying network/infrastructure changes using Infrastructure as Code
- Strong knowledge of AWS IAM, security, segmentation and hybrid connectivity
- Background in networking, infrastructure or cloud engineering
- Comfortable working in complex enterprise environments
Desirable
- Experience with GitHub Actions, GitLab or Jenkins
- Exposure to AWS Organizations/Control Tower
- Python/Bash/Ansible
- Experience with network security tooling
- Exposure to Azure/GCP, though AWS must be the strongest area
