Job description
We're looking for a capable and commercially minded BI Analyst and Power BI Developer to take ownership of our Power BI reporting environment and help shape the next phase of our BI capability. You'll be working with a well-established data environment that connects Planon, SAP, and our data warehouse via OData and Dataflows - so there's genuine substance to get stuck into from day one. A solid grounding in financial reporting is important here. You'll be producing dashboards and reports that are used directly by finance and operations leaders, so comfort with commercial metrics - margins, P&L, revenue performance - is expected rather than optional. This is a good fit for someone who is confident working independently, enjoys untangling complex data models, and takes pride in producing reports that people trust and use. The role reports to the Head of IT and works closely with finance, operations, and senior leadership, * Taking ownership of our existing Power BI report suite - reviewing, maintaining, and improving performance, usability, and trust in the reporting layer.
- Designing and building new reports and dashboards to meet evolving business needs across operations, finance, and client services.
- Managing Power BI Dataflows and transforming data using Power Query (M).
- Connecting and merging data from SAP, Planon CAFM, and our enterprise data warehouse via OData and direct integrations.
- Building clear, accurate financial dashboards for use by finance and senior leadership.
- Collaborating with senior management to understand reporting requirements and translate them into practical, actionable BI solutions.
Requirements
- Solid, hands-on Power BI experience - advanced DAX, Power Query (M), Dataflows, and report optimisation.
- Experience extracting and working with data from ERP or CAFM systems such as SAP or Planon, ideally via OData.
- A good working knowledge of financial metrics and reporting - margins, P&L, revenue, cost analysis. You don't need to be an accountant, but you should be comfortable in a conversation with one.
- The ability to work independently, manage your own priorities, and get up to speed quickly on complex pre-existing data models.
- Strong attention to detail and a practical instinct for improving slow, clunky, or unreliable reports.
Benefits & conditions
- Competitive Salary.
- Annual Salary Review.
- Overtime Opportunities.
- 31 days holiday inclusive of bank holidays.
- Hybrid working - typically 2-3 days in the office, with flexibility depending on work requirements.
- Extensive Learning & Development opportunities, including opportunities for progression.
- Employee Assistance Programme - Offering guidance and advice on Personal, Health, Legal and Financial queries.
- Bupa Cashplan - benefits covered include dental, optical, physiotherapy and a health & wellbeing.
- Enrolment into our pension scheme.
- Refer a friend reward scheme - worth £750 per referral.
