Monitoring Engineer

Are you a Monitoring / SCOM Engineer ready for a new challenge?

Sopra Steria is looking for a Monitoring / SCOM Engineer to support the implementation and enhancement of performance and metric monitoring, including alerting into the ITSM toolset. This role would suit someone who can bring strong technical experience to an area that is continuing to develop, helping to shape the approach while also providing hands-on engineering support.

In this role, you will support monitoring across infrastructure and services, helping to improve operational visibility and ensure effective alerts and dashboards are in place to support service performance. You will work across a complex technical environment covering servers, infrastructure, network devices, and operational tooling.

What you will be doing:

• Define and implement monitoring solutions across infrastructure and services.
• Configure performance thresholds, alerting, and service views.
• Ensure alerts are raised effectively and integrated into the ITSM toolset.
• Build dashboards that provide the service desk and support teams with a clear operational view.
• Monitor hardware, virtual environments, Windows servers, Linux servers, and network devices.
• Contribute to product selection and recommend suitable monitoring platforms.
• Produce supporting technical documentation, including low-level designs.
• Provide senior-level hands-on engineering support across both design and operational activities.

What you will bring:

• Experience with enterprise monitoring tools, particularly SCOM and PRTG.
• Experience monitoring Windows servers, Linux servers, network devices, and physical and virtual infrastructure.
• Experience configuring dashboards, alerts, and service views.
• Good understanding of integration methods such as SNMP and other monitoring connectors.
• Ability to define, implement, and support monitoring solutions in a hands-on capacity.

It would be great if you had:

• Experience with other enterprise monitoring solutions such as ManageEngine Ops.
• Experience contributing to tool or product selection activities.
