Full Stack Engineer

We're looking for someone who enjoys high ownership, moves fast with quality, and works closely with design and Product Lead., At Deltabase, we are building the People & Culture HQ - an AI-powered intelligence platform that helps organisations better understand their people, culture, and workforce., We are looking for a Full-Stack Engineer with a strong focus on front end andapplication experience who can ship UI features quickly, take ownership of meaningful parts of the product, and help us build an application that remains intuitive as it grows in complexity.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being close to the product - translating designs into high-quality user experiences, building reliable and maintainable interfaces, and taking responsibility for how features evolve over time.

You will primarily work in React, delivering data-rich user interfaces and shaping how users interact with insights in the platform. As our team grows, you'll also collaborate more closely with backend engineering to influence API design and application architecture, but the initial focus is on front end delivery and product feature ownership., Build and Own Product Areas

• Build and maintain user interfaces using React and modern front end patterns.
• Translate designs into clean, accessible, well-structured user interfaces.
• Take ownership of specific areas of the product, from initial implementation through iteration and improvement.
• Be accountable for the usability, performance, and reliability of the features you own.
• Deliver Complex, Data-Rich Application Experiences
• Build interactive views for large datasets and high-usage workflows.
• Handle complex client-side state and create predictable, maintainable patterns for the application as it scales.
• Help ensure the product remains fast and intuitive as we add new features and user needs grow.
• Quality, Testing, and Reliability
• Write high-quality, maintainable code with strong attention to usability and edge cases.
• Contribute to testing practices that protect critical user flows and enable fast iteration.
• Improve reliability through clear code structure, pragmatic testing, and thoughtful front end architecture.
• Work with the Team (Growing Product and Engineering Function)
• Work closely with designers and the Product Lead to turn ideas into shipped features.
• Collaborate with engineers across the team as we grow - contributing to shareddecisions on application architecture, data flow, and product structure.

· Front End Engineering

· Strong experience building production web applications using React.

· Strong experience using TypeScript in production (this is essential).

· Proven ability to ship user-facing features quickly while maintaining quality.

· Confidence translating designs into high-quality user interfaces.

Experience working with modern front end tooling and patterns, for example:

· Tailwind CSS (or similar utility-first styling)

· React Query (or similar async state tools)

Experience managing complex application state, asynchronous data, and large datasets.

· Strong understanding of performance considerations in modern web applications.

· Quality, Testing, and Maintainability

Practical experience with front end testing, including:

· Unit testing (for example Vitest or Jest)

· Component testing

· End-to-end testing (for example Playwright or Cypress)

Able to write and maintain tests that protect key user flows and support fast iteration.

• Comfortable handling edge cases and ensuring features are reliable in real-world use.
• Application Thinking and Architecture
• Comfortable working on applications that will grow in complexity over time.
• Able to think clearly about component structure, user flows, state management, and maintainable patterns.

Experience improving existing features over time, not just building new ones.

• Comfortable taking ownership of product areas and being accountable for outcomes.
• Strong communicator who works well with designers, the Product Lead, and engineers.
• Enjoys working in a low-process, high-ownership environment where decisions and responsibility sit with the team.

Nice to Have

· Experience working with data-heavy UI libraries such as AG Grid.

· Experience writing production-grade unit tests and ideally following Test-Driven Development (TDD).

· Background in SaaS or analytics-driven product environments.

· Experience or interest in real-time collaboration and shared state tools such as Liveblocks.

· Familiarity with authentication and authorisation patterns, such as:

· OAuth (Open Authorisation)

· JSON Web Tokens (JWT)

· Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)

· Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC)

· Experience contributing to backend services or API design in Node.js or Python.

· Clear ownership over meaningful parts of the product.
