OverviewIf you are a driven editorial leader ready to shape the next chapter of entertainment and features journalism at a national level, this is your opportunity. We are looking for an exceptional Head of Entertainment and Features to lead and evolve our entertainment, lifestyle and Real-Life teams, with a clear focus on delivering a bold, video-first strategy. This is a senior leadership role with real influence. You will oversee three specialist teams, setting the editorial vision and ensuring our output is distinctive, competitive and commercially successful across all platforms. Video will be central to your strategy. You will bring proven experience of running video operations and developing engaging, platform-specific formats, including vertical and other emerging formats. You will test, iterate and refine approaches to ensure our content performs for customers and audiences alike. Working closely with section editors and the Editor-in-Chief, you will ensure every story, whether breaking entertainment news, a lifestyle feature or a Real Life exclusive, meets the highest editorial standards and stands out in a crowded digital landscape. You will combine sharp editorial instinct with commercial awareness, using data and insight to shape output, spot opportunities and respond quickly to performance trends. You will also play a key role in maintaining and growing customer relationships, overseeing bespoke projects and identifying new business opportunities in partnership with commercial colleagues. What you'll be trusted withSetting and delivering a compelling, video-first content strategy across entertainment, lifestyle and Real Life Leading and developing three editorial teams, fostering a culture of trust, collaboration and high performance Driving innovation in video formats, including vertical and platform-native storytelling Ensuring all content is accurate, engaging, legally sound and tailored to customer needs Using data and analytics to inform commissioning, angles and output decisions Monitoring breaking news and industry developments, securing exclusives and building on an extensive contacts' network Managing budgets effectively and contributing to commercial growth Maintaining strong, proactive relationships with customers and responding swiftly to their needs QualificationsEssential Significant experience in a senior editorial role at a national publication or equivalent A proven track record of managing editors and journalists to deliver high-quality content under pressure Demonstrable experience leading video teams and producing high-performing digital video content Excellent editorial judgement and the ability to spot standout angles quickly A deep understanding of digital publishing, SEO and social media strategy Strong knowledge of media law A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and the ability to self-direct at pace The credibility and communication skills to build trusted relationships internally and externally Desirable Experience in news, digital journalism or on a lifestyle desk at a national publication Experience of section planning and commissioning About PAPA is the UK and Ireland's trusted national news agency, delivering 24/7 multimedia journalism and content to newsrooms, publishers and platforms around the world.
