Job description

Job Title: Enterprise BI Technical Lead Location: Norwich, Norfolk Job Type: Contract (Inside IR35) Duration: 6 Months Job Summary: We are looking for an experienced Enterprise BI Technical Lead to provide strategic technical leadership across the full lifecycle of complex Business Intelligence solutions. You will play a key role in platform deployment, performance tuning, and ongoing maintenance, ensuring system reliability and optimal performance for large-scale BI environments. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact within a purpose-led, globally recognised organisation. Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee BI platform deployment, performance tuning, and ongoing maintenance, including AMI refreshes, tooling upgrades, and database administration.
  • Design and implement robust monitoring and reporting frameworks to ensure BI system health and performance.
  • Manage data gateways and connections, maintaining high standards of data integrity and availability.
  • Enforce enterprise-grade security measures aligned with customer data sensitivity requirements, including access controls and encryption.
  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable data models and efficient processes.
  • Provide accurate resource and cost estimates for BI projects, ensuring alignment with business needs.
  • Champion best practices in data modelling, database design, and architectural governance to maximise BI platform value.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in BI platform deployment, maintenance, and performance tuning.
  • Strong knowledge of database administration, disaster recovery, and workload management.
  • Expertise in data security, including access controls and encryption.
  • Ability to translate business needs into scalable data models and efficient processes.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS/Azure, Snowflake, and BI tooling monitoring.
  • Hands-on experience with BI tools: Business Objects, Qlik Sense, Power BI.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure technologies: AWS Services, Terraform, PowerShell.
  • Expertise in the design and architecture of infrastructure and BI tools.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in BI Tools Business Objects, Qlik Sense, Power BI (preferred).
