Overview hackajob is collaborating with Leidos to connect them with exceptional professionals for this role.2nd Line Infrastructure Engineer Location: Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire Security Clearance Level: High - SC/DVRole Summary We are looking for someone with a passion for infrastructure, ideally from an operational support services background. You will be self-motivated and able to work autonomously to achieve day-to-day objectives with significant results on project or operational deliverables, while owning a variety of activities ensuring compliance with project milestones and customer KPIs and SLAs. You must be an effective communicator, comfortable directly engaging with customers and colleagues, and you should demonstrate an analytical and systematic approach to technical challenges.Responsibilities The role provides technical exposure across both project-based outcomes and operational (Business as Usual) support activities. Duties include providing remote and on-site support and there is a requirement to provide out-of-hours on-call support. You will contribute towards the creation and ongoing maintenance of technical documentation to support project work or the operational support service.Skills and KnowledgeExcellent knowledge of virtualized environments such as VMware and Hyper-V, with VMware Horizon knowledge as an advantage.Excellent knowledge of Windows Server environments (Server 2008-2022), including OS build Windows 10 & 11, AD, DNS, DHCP and GPO from design to implementation and support.Strong Linux system administration skills (Ubuntu / CentOS).Good general knowledge of TCP/IP and networking technologies including load balancing and firewalls.Good knowledge of Microsoft stack technologies such as SharePoint, Skype for Business / Teams, MS SQL, System Center, Office 365, SCCM & SCOM, Power BI, MS Exchange, and CLI tooling (PowerShell).Good knowledge of SAN storage technologies.Knowledge of two-factor authentication technologies.Some knowledge/experience with scripting.Excellent analysis and problem-solving skills, taking ownership of complex incidents and resolving them to the satisfaction of the customer.Excellent communication skills.Experience producing and updating technical documentation to a high standard.Knowledge of helpdesk-based ticketing systems.ITIL 3 or ITIL 4 Foundation level or above.Clearance RequirementsClearance to Start SCClearance for Role SCWhat We Do For You At Leidos we are passionate about customer success, united as a team and inspired to make a difference.
