Job description
We are looking for an Android engineer who wants to own the full growth surface area in the World App. This is not a role where you build one feature and move on. You will be responsible for core priorities in the Android growth - primarily focus on user incentives, but often working on other important areas across the Growth team including onboarding and modalities. You may work on the first screen a new user sees to the systems that power referrals and rewards. Important is that you understand the impact you can have with every experience and are willing to own the work to complete. You will ship fast, measure everything, and iterate based on what the data tells you. You will work closely with product, backend, design, economics, and data to deliver features that meaningfully move user acquisition and retention.
The Opportunity
- Own all required Android growth surfaces in the World App focusing on incentives while working on onboarding, notification centre, and modalities.
- Ship features and experiments at high velocity, working in tight collaboration with product, backend, and design.
- Instrument growth flows for analytics and experimentation, ensuring every feature is measurable and every funnel is tracked.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with economics, data, and operations teams to understand the full context of how growth features perform.
- Improve the Android codebase for experimentation velocity: feature flags, modular architecture, testability.
- Debug and resolve issues quickly when growth flows break or underperform, treating reliability as a first-class concern.
- Navigate Android-specific challenges including device fragmentation, OS version compatibility, and performance across a wide range of hardware.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Kotlin?, * Strong Android development experience in Kotlin, with a track record of shipping user-facing features in a production app.
- A growth engineering mindset: you care about metrics, think in funnels, and are energized by rapid experimentation and iteration.
- Experience delivering features end-to-end, from requirements through release and post-launch monitoring.
- Comfort working across teams and communicating clearly with non-engineering stakeholders (product, design, data, economics).
- Familiarity with analytics instrumentation, A/B testing, or feature flag systems on Android.
- A bias for action and ownership: you do not wait to be told what to do next. By submitting your application, you consent to the processing and internal sharing of your CV within the company, in compliance with the GDPR.
