Job description
You will be the senior data scientist on Decision Intelligence, reporting to the VP of Decision Intelligence. This is not a role where you inherit a playbook. Instead, you will work closely with the VP and our Senior Manager of Data Analytics to build our data science strategy and vision while partnering with stakeholders to implement value as the lead IC.
You will work directly with stakeholders (at all levels, including C-Suite) across Finance, GTM, and Product to deliver outcomes through modeling, experimentation, and recommendations, while identifying the patterns worth scaling into repeatable models and integrations within the Gorgias Decision Engine.
- Partner with the VP of Decision Intelligence to define and evolve the data science strategy and roadmap across Gorgias
- Own model improvement to our forecasting for Finance, including revenue forecasting, churn prediction, and scenario planning
- Mature audience segmentation and customer profiling for GTM, enabling more targeted and effective go-to-market motions
- Support retention and expansion intelligence, including improving churn risk models, identifying expansion opportunities, and evaluating the effectiveness of CS programs
- Contribute to pricing and monetization strategy through price sensitivity modeling, upgrade opportunity identification, and predictive pricing experiments
- Develop and scale experimentation frameworks and A/B testing methodologies, including defining key events and success metrics
- Work with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver actionable insights, forecasts, and strategic recommendations that drive actions in near real time
- Inherit and improve existing predictive models (fit score, intent score, churn risk, forecasting) through regular refreshes, stronger features, and updated signals
- Identify high-value, repeatable patterns and partner with the Data Engineering team to productionalize them as models within the Gorgias Decision Engine
Requirements
Do you have experience in Slack?, * You have 5+ years of hands-on experience in data science or a related quantitative field, with strong proficiency in Python and SQL
- You have deep experience with statistical modeling, forecasting, segmentation, and experimentation design
- You are a strong IC who is hungry to grow by building something from the ground up. You see this as an opportunity to define your career trajectory by establishing and scaling a function, not just filling a role
- You move fast and ship iteratively - comfortable with ambiguity and energized by the opportunity to set direction
- You are a strong communicator who can translate complex analysis into clear, actionable recommendations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- You are comfortable working across domains (Finance, GTM, Product) and switching context frequently - prioritization and organization come naturally
- You are excited about AI and how it intersects with data science. You see LLMs and agentic systems as tools that amplify your work, not replace it
- Experience partnering with engineering teams to productionalize models (MLOps, model monitoring, CI/CD for ML), * Experience in SaaS, B2B, or e-commerce environments
- Familiarity with dbt, BigQuery, or modern analytics engineering workflows
- Prior experience building a data science function or being the first/early data scientist at a company

AI at Gorgias At Gorgias, AI is a natural extension of how we work and build. Our teams use it every day to research, write, analyze, code, and craft better customer experiences. Everyone has access to premium AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Granola & others) and an annual L&D budget to explore new ones.
The real magic happens when we share what we learn. Our #powerup Slack channel is a digital petri dish of new tools and workflows, and each team has AI champions who showcase fresh ideas during weekly company-wide standups, now practically AI demo sessions.
We see AI not as a replacement for creativity or empathy, but as a multiplier, helping us move faster, think deeper, and serve customers better.
