About this role

We are looking for a Technology Manager to lead a cross-functional team responsible for our internal engineering portal as well as engineering tooling, including AI tools. The position combines technical leadership, people management, and strong cross-team collaboration. You and your team will be part of the wider area Engineering Experience at JET, with a mission to empower teams with world-class tooling, actionable insights, and a culture of continuous learning and feedback. You will lead a team that works horizontally across Engineering, driving high-impact improvements to tooling, the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), and culture.

Location: Hybrid - 3 days a week from our Enschede office & 2 days working from home

Reporting to: Senior Technology Manager

These are some of the key components of the position:

  • Lead a team of cross-functional engineers, providing technical direction, coaching, and fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
  • Drive initiatives to build a centralized, unified ecosystem of self-service engineering-focused tooling.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to understand and deliver what they need and why at pace.
  • Leverage a data-driven approach to identify the highest priority needs.
  • Guide development of a stable architecture capable of accepting contributions from across the business.
  • Own and evolve the technical roadmap for the team, balancing short-term impact with long-term architectural health.
  • Ensure high engineering standards, strong design practices, and operational excellence across all delivered solutions.
  • Promote scalable, reusable solutions that unlock productivity across the wider engineering organisation.

  • Proven experience leading and growing high-performing engineering teams.
  • Strong background in software engineering with experience in backend, frontend and platform development.
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple teams and domains to drive alignment and execution.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to balance technical depth with organisational impact.
  • A mindset focused on scalability, automation, and building reusable, self-service solutions.
  • Experience addressing cross-cutting technical challenges such as architecture evolution, platform reliability, or developer productivity.
