Job description

Working Pattern: 37 hours per week, set hours 08:00-16:30OverviewAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Systems Engineer to play a critical role in supporting the design, evaluation and assurance of advanced mission systems within a fast-paced, high-technology environment. You will work closely with operational users and engineering specialists, contributing to capability development and safe integration of complex systems.This position is embedded within a flight test and evaluation environment, offering a unique blend of systems engineering, analysis, and hands-on support to real-world aerospace programmes.Key Responsibilities

  • Provide subject matter expertise on mission and avionics systems
  • Lead systems integration, flight test analysis, and associated evaluation activities
  • Apply verification and validation techniques to underpin safety, assurance and airworthiness
  • Define, develop and support test plans, operational analysis tasks, and data-driven assessments
  • Enhance, develop and assure engineering software tools used for analysis
  • Mentor and supervise engineers within the analysis team, supporting technical development
  • Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary environment, including operators, analysts and engineering specialists

Requirements

  • Proven experience delivering technical analysis and structured problem solving across the engineering lifecycle
  • Proficiency in engineering-relevant software development (e.g. Python, MATLAB, C++)
  • Background in systems engineering, aerospace engineering, or related technical disciplines
  • Experience working within safety-critical or highly regulated environments
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present technical findings clearly and confidently
  • Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team

Essential Qualifications

  • A relevant STEM Bachelor's Degree
  • Eligibility or willingness to obtain appropriate UK Security Clearance
