Job description

An established engineering consultancy working on advanced radar, communications, and sensing programmes is looking to strengthen its FPGA capability with the addition of an FPGA Engineer. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to both internally developed IP and a broad range of client-led projects across high-performance digital and RF-adjacent systems. From day one, you'll be embedded within a multidisciplinary consultancy team, translating customer requirements into robust FPGA-based solutions. The work spans the full development lifecycle, covering early concept and architecture through to implementation, validation, and long-term support. The technical focus of the role is centred on FPGA and DSP development, most commonly targeting AMD/Xilinx devices using the Vivado toolchain, often within Zynq SoC-based systems. You'll work closely with hardware, software, and systems engineers on technically demanding programmes, where collaboration and adaptability are essential. While

experience across electronics or firmware is highly valued, candidates with a strong FPGA core who are keen to broaden their skill set are equally encouraged. As an FPGA Engineer, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality FPGA and DSP implementations with a high degree of autonomy, contributing to design reviews, technical discussions, and project planning activities. You may also be involved in technical engagement with clients, including early-stage scoping discussions, and-depending on experience-supporting or mentoring more junior engineers. Clear communication, documentation, and early identification of technical risks form a key part of the role. They are looking for an FPGA Engineer with the following background:
