Software Test & Automation EngineerSalisbury, Wiltshire (Hybrid)Up to £60,000 + benefitsThe OpportunityWe are recruiting for a Software Test & Automation Engineer to join a specialist engineering company developing high-precision equipment used within the pharmaceutical sector.The company produces software that runs on complex physical machines. Testing is currently largely manual and system-level, carried out directly on the equipment itself.The business now wants to introduce greater automation and modernise its testing approach.This role will play a key part in that transition.You will inherit an established test function, work closely with experienced engineers, and help introduce structured automated testing practices where appropriate.What You'll Be DoingCarrying out system-level software testingTesting software directly on industrial equipment and machineryDesigning and implementing automated test scripts or frameworksSupporting structured validation documentationContributing to a longer-term automation strategyCollaborating with embedded and systems engineersWhat We're Looking ForExperience in software testing at application or system levelExposure to test automation tools or frameworksAbility to write scripts in Python, C#, or similar languagesExperience using test management and defect tracking tools (Jira, TestRail, Zephyr, Xray etc.)Understanding of version control and release processesExperience working in regulated or quality-focused environments beneficialThe EnvironmentThis is an engineering-led SME, not a large corporate DevOps environment.You will have the opportunity to:Build automation capability from the ground upHelp modernise an existing manual testing processDevelop into a technical lead within the test functionHybrid working is supported, but candidates must be able to attend site near Salisbury when equipment-based testing is required.ContactFor more information, please contact James Brocklehurst at Euro Projects Recruitment for a confidential discussion.
