The role supports the transition from outsourced arrangements to an in-house delivery model, working with others to achieve continuous improvement.Key responsibilities include analytical support, innovative presentation of information, development of new analyses, and ensuring high quality data for corporate reporting. You will also support health care activities, understand case mix and patient flows, and contribute to operational improvement.Detailed Job Description and Main ResponsibilitiesData Analytics & Information ProvisionLead on Data Analysis - perform advanced data analysis, apply statistical methods, BI tools, and data modelling to generate insights supporting Trust strategic objectives across performance, quality improvement, benchmarking, and operational efficiency.Reporting and Interpretation - create detailed reports from complex datasets, translating raw data into actionable intelligence for stakeholders, aligning with Trust priorities.Data Integrity and Quality - ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of all data sources, applying quality assurance processes and maintaining high standards of information governance.Routine and Ad Hoc Reporting - support production of routine and ad-hoc reports, responding to internal and external requests, meeting tight NHS and regulatory deadlines.Communication and Collaboration - effectively communicate complex statistical results to clinicians, operational managers, and senior executives, tailoring presentations to audience needs.Stakeholder Engagement - collaborate with clinical, operational, financial and performance teams to understand data needs and facilitate data-driven discussions and workshops.Present Findings - lead presentation of data insights in meetings, workshops, and strategic discussions, providing clear explanations of models, trends and forecasts.Data Advocacy - promote a culture of good data quality and effective use across departments, guiding stakeholders in applying insights.Freedom of Information (FOI) Requests - support management of FOI requests in accordance with policy.Support for Decision-Making & Strategic Initiatives - provide analytic support that informs strategic decisions, identify performance trends, financial impacts, and efficiency opportunities.Benchmarking and Performance Analysis - use national and regional datasets for benchmarking, assessing Trust performance against peers, and interpreting policy impacts.Scenario Modelling - use predictive modelling and forecasting to simulate outcomes for strategic decisions.Data Resource Management - oversee data resources, ensuring secure use of digital tools, software and platforms, complying with governance and security policies.Develop and Maintain Reporting Tools - use SQL, Python, R, Power BI, Tableau to develop bespoke data reporting tools, maintain and update existing systems.Support Data Infrastructure - collaborate with IT and informatics teams to ensure robust, scalable, secure data analysis infrastructure.Promote Data-Driven Culture - support teams in leveraging data, collaborate with senior analysts and clinicians to develop a culture of data-driven problem solving.Training and Support - provide training and guidance to staff on interpreting and using data, enhance data literacy among non-technical users.Process Improvement - review and refine data collection, analysis and reporting processes, recommend and implement improvements.Information Governance - ensure adherence to governance standards, data protection policies and NHS guidelines.Change Control Procedures - follow formal procedures for statistical analysis changes, documenting and justifying all changes.Compliance with National Standards - ensure outputs meet NHS Digital and other national bodies' requirements.Advanced Data Techniques - employ machine learning, predictive modelling to identify trends, automate routine reporting where possible.System Development - contribute to Trust informatics systems, proposing enhancements for data accessibility and timeliness.Data Visualisation - develop advanced visualisation techniques for dynamic dashboards and interactive reports providing real-time insights.Cross-Team Collaboration & Support - collaborate with finance, workforce and operational teams to triangulate data for performance insights.Support Senior Analysts - assist senior colleagues in delivering high-quality information services, supporting KPI production and improvement strategies.Inter-departmental Liaison - act as key contact between informatics and other departments, ensuring seamless data flow.Continued Professional Development (CPD) -
