Job description
- To implement, document, support and maintain computing, network and storage infrastructure that meets the requirements ofthe business from a security, performance and availability perspective
- To ensure appropriate use of technology and to consider more effective and efficient technologies and processes on a continual basis
Functional Responsibilities
- Physical and virtual server build, configuration, documentation and administration
- Management of storage systems and capacity planning
- Management of firewall, network and antivirus security systems
- Virtualisation system management
- Timely system patching and hardware maintenance as required
- Monitoring and reporting on ICT infrastructure
- Owning and troubleshooting technical issues
- Back-up and recovery of systems and data
- Creation of documented IT procedures
- Evaluation of new technologies and processes
- Specification and creation of standardised builds for all laptops and PCs
- Managing data security on the network via access control and encryption schemes
- Management and maintenance of Active Directory
- User management
- Management of server room power supply and distribution, air-conditioning, placement of servers, telephone and data patching
- Collaborative maintenance of hardware asset database
- Management of third-party and SaaS provided systems both in and outside of the company network
- Providing mentoring and knowledge transfer to colleagues
- Providing 1st, 2nd and 3rd line support to employees from time to time
- Any other related duties as assigned by the Line Manager from time to time
