Job description
We are seeking a Lead Software Engineer to serve as the primary technical architect and delivery lead. This role is designed for an engineer who excels at foundational coding while managing a high-velocity delivery model that integrates agentic AI workflows and specialized external contributors.
Core Responsibilities
- Technical Architecture & Execution: Lead the design and implementation of core platform features. You will oversee multiple parallel workstreams, ensuring architectural consistency across the stack.
- Engineering Orchestration: Act as the primary lead for the platform. You will scope technical work packages, manage contributions from specialized freelance or outsourced partners, and maintain high standards through rigorous code reviews.
- AI-Augmented Development: Standardize the use of agentic coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor) within our development lifecycle. You will define the protocols for AI-assisted code generation, testing, and documentation to maximize organizational velocity.
- System Integrity & Security: Serve as the final authority for production deployments. You will maintain and extend critical infrastructure, including authentication, audit logging, and rate-limiting, ensuring compliance with data privacy standards.
- Roadmap Translation: Convert product requirements into executable technical specifications. You will balance the immediate need for delivery with the long-term requirement for platform stability and scalability.
Technical Stack
- Backend: Python, FastAPI, Async SQLAlchemy, Alembic, Redis.
- Frontend: React, TypeScript, Vite, React Query, Tailwind.
- Data: PostgreSQL, VCon (Virtual Contact) standards.
- Infrastructure: Integrations with third-party Voice AI and UCaaS providers.
- AI: Anthropic Claude API; integration of agentic tools into daily workflows.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Data modeling?, * Demonstrated Impact: A portfolio of shipped production services. We prioritize evidence of sound technical judgment and successful delivery over specific years of tenure.
- Workflow Engineering: Proven ability to integrate AI coding agents into the development process. You understand the limitations of these tools and can implement the necessary guardrails to ensure high-quality output.
- Core Proficiency: Expert-level command of Python or TypeScript, with working proficiency in the other. Deep experience with asynchronous patterns and relational data modeling is required.
- Domain Expertise: Experience in Telephony, VoIP, or highly regulated/integration-heavy industries is strongly preferred.
- Contributor Management: Experience directing external technical contributors, including scoping requirements and managing remote code integration.
- Security Mindset: A proactive approach to application security, data encryption, and robust audit trails.
Professional Profile
You are a systems thinker who prioritizes functional software over theoretical perfection. You possess high agency and are comfortable setting technical direction and making definitive architectural decisions in an evolving environment.
