Job description

As an AI Solution Architect, you will help define and evolve Oscar, the company's enterprise AI platform used across the organization to power AI-assisted workflows, enterprise knowledge retrieval, and next-generation AI capabilities.

This is a highly technical, hands-on architecture role focused on building secure, scalable, observable AI systems in production. You will work at the intersection of LLM engineering, Azure cloud architecture, enterprise integrations, and AI platform engineering.

Unlike traditional architecture roles, this position requires deep technical engagement. You will prototype emerging AI capabilities, evaluate new technologies, guide implementation patterns, and help shape the future architecture of enterprise AI across the organization.

You will define the architectural runway for future capabilities including agent orchestration, retrieval systems, enterprise integrations, and emerging AI infrastructure patterns while staying closely aligned with engineering delivery.

Oscar is not simply a chatbot platform. It is a rapidly evolving enterprise AI platform that integrates organizational knowledge, tools, retrieval systems, orchestration frameworks, and future AI capabilities into a unified experience used at enterprise scale.

This position will offer flexibility for hybrid work schedules to include both in-office presence and telecommute/virtual work, to be based from either Houston or Dallas, TX., * Define and evolve scalable AI platform architecture for LLM integration, RAG pipelines, enterprise retrieval systems, and agent-based workflows

  • Architect production-grade AI systems including retrieval strategies, vector search patterns, orchestration layers, observability, and enterprise integrations
  • Lead technical spikes, proof-of-concepts, and platform experimentation for emerging AI technologies and orchestration frameworks
  • Evaluate and operationalize technologies such as MCP, orchestration frameworks, Azure AI services, and enterprise AI infrastructure capabilities
  • Establish standards for observability, monitoring, reliability, security, and cost optimization for AI services operating at enterprise scale
  • Conduct architecture reviews and code reviews while guiding engineers through implementation and delivery execution
  • Build reusable architectural patterns and reference implementations to accelerate future platform capabilities
  • Influence the future architecture and extensibility of the Oscar AI platform

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree plus at least 10 years of distributed systems or enterprise platforms experience, cloud-native systems, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Experience deploying AI/LLM-powered systems into production environment
  • Proven hands-on experience designing and implementing production RAG architectures
  • Strong experience with Azure cloud services and enterprise cloud architecture
  • Experience building scalable APIs, distributed systems, and enterprise integrations
  • Strong understanding of observability, monitoring, alerting, and production reliability practices
  • Comfortable operating hands-on while leading architectural direction and implementation quality
  • Experience guiding engineering teams through architecture reviews and technical decision-making

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building enterprise AI platforms or large-scale internal AI assistant systems
  • Familiarity with agent orchestration frameworks, MCP (Model Context Protocol), and multi-agent architectures
  • Experience with Azure API Management, AKS, Kubernetes, or cloud-native platform infrastructure
  • Experience with AI observability and evaluation tooling for production AI systems
  • Exposure to DevOps, DevSecOps, or MLOps practices
  • Experience evaluating emerging AI technologies and operationalizing them in enterprise environments
