Job description

  • UI/UX Design and Frontend Development: Conceptualization, design, technical implementation, and programming of specifications for modern, user-centered user interfaces for educational and technology projects, including applications in the field of generative AI. The focus is on UX principles such as usability, accessibility, information architecture, and consistent user journeys., * Testing & Quality Assurance: Testing code and conducting program tests as part of pilot projects, as well as supporting user tests (e.g., usability tests, feedback evaluation) to ensure functionality and quality.
  • Error Analysis & Bug Fixing: Analyzing and fixing bugs in existing applications, as well as continuously improving front-end components.
  • Technical Documentation: Documenting code and development activities, as well as creating and maintaining technical documentation for new educational technologies.
  • Data processing: Assisting with the technical implementation of web projects involving data processing and analysis requirements.
  • Interdisciplinary collaboration: Collaborating with education and IT experts in interdisciplinary project contexts.

Requirements

  • Web Project Management & Version Control: Maintenance and further development of software projects using Git-based version control, as well as creation of change descriptions during the development process., Completed or ongoing university degree (Bachelor's or Master's) in one of the following fields:
  • Media design, web design
  • Computer science, data science, artificial intelligence
  • Educational sciences with a focus on digital technologies
  • Business informatics
  • or similar technical degree programs
  • Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken, * Good knowledge of HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS
  • Prior experience in data visualization using JavaScript libraries (e.g., D3.js) is desirable but not required
  • Experience with frontend design libraries is desirable but not required
  • Basic knowledge of UX/UI design (e.g., wireframing, prototyping, usability principles)
  • Experience with modern frontend frameworks (e.g., Svelte, AngularJS, or similar) is desirable
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methods
  • Willingness to collaborate in interdisciplinary teams with education and IT experts
  • Familiarity with the higher education landscape in the DACH region, preferably with universities in Graz, is desirable
  • Based in Graz or the surrounding area, or willingness to be regularly present on-site

We offer an annual gross salary of at least € 50,029.81 for a fulltime position. An overpayment based on qualification and experience is possible.
