Job description
The Software Engineer - Video role is focused on supporting and enhancing the reliability and performance of voice communication services within the Voice Connectivity Trust team. The position involves full participation in the software development lifecycle, ownership of distributed services, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and robust solutions that meet customer needs. This role is critical to maintaining high service quality and supporting the organization's customers globally.
- Responsibilities:

Design and implement real-time services with high throughput and low latency

Verify, deploy, and operationalize services in production environments

Collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand and address customer needs

Document technical concepts and collaborate with leads, architects, and teams

Scale distributed platforms ensuring high availability, reliability, and media fidelity

Innovate solutions for customer challenges related to voice communication
Requirements
-
2-3+ years of experience with large-scale, distributed applications on JVM technologies
-
Experience with RESTful services, API design, and event-driven architectures (Kafka, SQS)

Understanding of CI/CD pipelines

Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, OpenStack, or Azure
-
Experience with on-call rotations, incident response, and monitoring tools (Prometheus, Datadog, Grafana)

Strong written communication skills suitable for technical documentation and AI prompt engineering

Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated code for correctness, security, and performance
-
Strong Java fundamentals and ability to architect, review, and debug code

Proficiency with AI coding assistants and ability to describe workflows

Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science or related field

Solid fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems

Team-oriented, motivated, and able to motivate others
Desired:

Demonstrated metrics on AI productivity enhancements

Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases and caching for scalable data tiers

Proven ability designing horizontally scalable and resilient backend systems

Knowledge of SIP and Stir/Shaken protocols
