Job description
We are seeking a Hardware Operations Technician to take ownership of the end-to-end delivery of our hardware infrastructure across customer sites. This hands-on role spans install scoping, inventory management, configuration, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
You'll work closely with subcontractors, and our internal hardware and commercial teams to ensure smooth on-site delivery, reliable system performance, and a strong feedback loop between the field and HQ. No two days are the same - you may be planning installs and managing stock one day then configuring, deploying, or maintaining hardware in the field the next.
The ideal applicant will be Derbyshire-based, as our HQ is in Belper, with occasional UK travel required.
What You'll Be Doing:
Hardware Scoping:
- Create bespoke install plans based on our customers' yard or farm layout.
- Ensure install plans are accurately recorded and can be easily followed by our subcontractors.
Inventory Management:
- Manage inventory end-to-end, including ordering, allocation, stock records, and dispatch to support deployments.
Subcontractor Management:
- Liaise directly with our subcontractors about upcoming deployments, ensuring they are scheduled in a timely manner.
- Ensure that installations are clearly documented for future reference.
Hardware Maintenance and Management:
- Carry out necessary configuration of hardware prior to dispatching to our subcontractors.
- Perform diagnostics, feeding this back to the relevant teams. Work with the Hardware Lead to deploy fixes or carry out upgrades.
- At times you may need to visit sites to carry out on the ground diagnostics and system upgrades.
- You will be required to perform work safely at heights, from ladders, cherry pickers, and other temporary work platforms.
