Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an SC Cleared IT Infrastructure Engineer to join a small, multidisciplinary technical team based in Lincoln.

In this role, you will help support and maintain project IT infrastructure used in operational and training environments. The position involves hands-on infrastructure support, systems integration assistance, and working closely with engineers and technical teams to ensure systems remain reliable and available during live activities.

This is a full-time on-site role (Monday to Friday) and sits Inside IR35., * Support and maintain project IT infrastructure, including Servers, workstations, and applications to ensure high system availability.

  • Install, commission, test, and support IT hardware and software, including troubleshooting and fault resolution.
  • Maintain and update technical and engineering documentation.
  • Identify and mitigate potential IT risks and support site acceptance testing.
  • Assist with technical issue resolution for operational and deployed teams.
  • Provide end-user support and on-the-job training to colleagues.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams and stakeholders, providing technical advice when required.
  • Work closely with distributed teams across multiple sites to support system integration activities.

Requirements

  • Administration of Windows Server and Windows 10 environments

  • Experience with backup and recovery management

  • Knowledge of virtualised and physical infrastructure (VMware, enterprise Servers, network hardware)

  • Experience with Windows domain services, including:

  • DNS

  • DHCP

  • WSUS

  • Exchange

  • SQL Server

Experience with application deployment and virtualisation technologies such as VMware Horizon or Citrix

Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including IPv4/IPv6, VLANs, routing, switching, and network security
