Job description

Some engineering roles follow a well-trodden path. This one doesn't.You'll be joining a small, highly capable team working on a fast-tracked defence programme that's moving from concept to manufacture in just two years. It's the kind of environment where engineers work directly with hardware in the lab, solving real integration challenges and shaping how testing is done rather than following a rigid process. If you enjoy hands-on engineering, autonomy, and tackling complex system problems in a fast-moving programme, this is a genuinely exciting opportunity to make a visible impact. What's on offer:Bonus: Up to £2,500 depending on company performancePension: Up to 14% total employer and employee contributionPaid overtime opportunitiesFlexi Leave: Up to 15 additional daysFlexible working arrangements where possibleEnhanced parental leave including maternity, adoption and shared parental leave up to 26 weeksEnhanced paternity, neonatal leave and fertility treatment supportHealthcare Cash Plan covering dental, optical and everyday healthcare expensesExcellent site facilities including subsidised meals and free parkingAbout the RoleReporting to the Chief Systems Proving Engineer, you'll take ownership of functional integration and system verification activities on a high-priority missile programme currently entering its second year of development. This role sits right at the centre of the programme's proving activities. You'll be working hands-on in the lab integrating hardware and software systems, investigating system behaviour, and running end-to-end testing on physical platforms. In the immediate term, you'll be focused on subsystem integration and introducing system updates following the initial demonstration phase. This includes integrating new subsystems such as telemetry solutions into operational weapon equipment ahead of flight trials. As the programme evolves, you'll also help shape the strategy for integration across future spiral development phases, with opportunities to influence how hardware-in-the-loop testing and broader system validation approaches are implemented. You'll be a key technical leader within the programme, coordinating integration campaigns, approving test readiness, and working closely with internal experts, suppliers and trial facilities. The role also includes supporting major ground and flight trial activities, which may involve short-term travel within the UK or internationally. What You'll NeedWe're looking for an engineer who enjoys working in fast-moving environments where priorities evolve and technical challenges need practical solutions. You'll likely bring:Experience in system integration, testing or verification activitiesStrong understanding of hardware and software integrationExperience working with engineering lab environments and test benchesFamiliarity with commercial test equipment and data analysis toolsAbility to interpret system behaviour and troubleshoot complex technical issuesConfidence, The Integration Engineer will be responsible for planning, testing, and maintaining computer operations within a high-security environment., PROJECT ENGINEER (SW/HW) - CONTRACT 12 MONTHS - STEVENAGE Hertfordshire ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES - Support the delivery of integration tools to customers acting as the liaison between Weapons Systems Engineering and Manufacturing. - Working with Project Leads &..., The Senior Design Engineer leads the development, coordination, and delivery of highway maintenance & improvement schemes from early contractor involvement (ECI) through mobilisation and construction.
