Job description
Your mission is to lead Vizzia's Hardware R&D to accelerate delivery speed and raise the bar on quality, while ensuring robust long-term technical decisions.
You are accountable for delivering the next product iterations (cameras, stations, accessories) on time and at industrial-grade quality - with zero late surprises.
You structure the team, elevate technical standards, and build a culture of rigor, transparency, and field impact., Program leadership & roadmap ownership
- Define and embody a clear, structured, and committed R&D roadmap.
- Ensure milestones (Q2-Q4 2026) are met with detailed plans (Gantt, risk register, dependencies).
- Anticipate technical and industrial risks at least two milestones ahead.
- Escalate and arbitrate cost / quality / timeline trade-offs early and clearly.
Architecture & technical excellence
- Design robust, modular, certifiable electronic architectures (ESP32, RF, high-speed, SoC/DSP).
- Integrate DFM/DFT and industrial constraints from day one.
- Anticipate EMC/CE/NDAA certification requirements and avoid end-of-cycle blockers.
- Structure clean interfaces with other teams (Backend/Operations) to ensure smooth product releases.
Industrialization & quality
- Ensure complete and production-ready industrial documentation (BOM, Gerber files, test reports, procedures).
- Define and enforce strong validation plans (functional, environmental, EMC, field testing).
- Control BOM costs and secure critical components through double sourcing.
- Run formal go/no-go reviews before each hardware release.
Team leadership & organization
- Lead and grow the hardware team (electronics, mechanical, firmware, test).
- Recruit key team members and raise the technical bar.
- Clarify ownership, roles, and priorities.
- Implement effective R&D rituals focused on decisions and execution.
- Develop autonomy and technical ownership across the team.
Technology vision & benchmarking
- Conduct active technical and competitive benchmarking.
- Challenge existing designs and drive simpler, more scalable architectures.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Gantt?, * Strong background in embedded electronics, with hands-on PCB experience.
- Expertise in RF, high-speed design, and EMC/CE constraints.
- Proven experience in hardware project management and industrialization.
- Successful people management experience, with a track record of team development.
- Strong prioritization skills, structured thinking, and execution rigor.
- Comfortable making decisions under cost, quality, and time constraints.
- Transparent communicator, able to align with Quality, Industrialization, and Executive teams.
- High energy, resilience, and strong product ownership mindset.
What will make the difference
We will pay special attention to candidates who:
- Have already led a hardware product from prototype to mass production and field deployment.
- Demonstrate a strong risk culture - anticipating issues early instead of reacting late.
- Combine technical depth with strategic clarity (able to zoom in on a routing issue and zoom out to rethink an architecture).
- Have successfully scaled or restructured a hardware team.
- Show evidence of raising the bar: improving processes, standards, validation rigor, or team performance.
- Are obsessed with real-world reliability, not just lab performance.
- Make complex technical constraints understandable to non-hardware stakeholders.
- Naturally simplify systems instead of adding complexity.
At Vizzia, we build hardware products deployed in real-world environments. Reliability is not optional.
If you enjoy structuring, delivering, recruiting, and raising technical standards - while keeping real customer impact at the center - this role is for you.
