Job description
A leading organisation within the construction and regeneration sector is looking to appoint a Document Controller to join their team at their Head Office in Hatfield. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of projects by ensuring all documentation is accurate, compliant, and effectively managed., Document & Data Management
- Maintain and manage all project documentation in line with company and client standards
- Control document flow, ensuring accuracy, quality, and timely distribution
- Keep drawing registers, revision histories, and change logs up to date
- Oversee document numbering, naming conventions, and templates
Project Information Control
- Upload, review, and manage documents using EDMS platforms such as Viewpoint/4Projects, SharePoint, BIM360, or similar
- Track approvals, comments, and document workflows
- Liaise with project teams, subcontractors, consultants, and clients
- Ensure all documentation is issued, received, and archived correctly
Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Support compliance with ISO standards, QA procedures, and project requirements
- Prepare O&M manuals, handover packs, and supporting documentation
- Assist with audits and process improvements
General Support
- Provide administrative and coordination support to operational teams
- Maintain clear communication across teams to ensure smooth processes
- Support and guide colleagues on document control systems
Requirements
This position would suit someone highly organised, detail-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced project environment., * Previous experience as a Document Controller or in a similar role within construction, engineering, or related sectors
- Strong understanding of document control processes and workflows
- Experience with EDMS systems (e.g. Viewpoint/4P, BIM360, Asite, SharePoint)
- Excellent organisation skills with strong attention to detail
- Confident communicator, able to work collaboratively
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of ISO standards and QA processes (desirable)
